Check out David’s newly released EP: Spring Awakening: Etudes for Cello & Piano. This recording features eight of 19 etudes he wrote as incidental music for a production of the play Spring Awakening (1906), directed by Kevin Connell at Marymount Manhattan College in 2015. Cellist Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf and David play on the album, which was produced by David and Kevin, and engineered by Doug Oberhamer. You can listen to samples of the EP by clicking here.

This week, David and his collaborator Michael Kelly will enjoy a private reading of their music-theatre piece, The Siren of the Drunken Boat. This piece tells the story of Paul Verlaine’s illicit affair with young poet Arthur Rimbaud by weaving together Gabriel Fauré’s La bonne chanson—settings of Verlaine’s poetry for his soon-to-be wife, Mathilde—with 10 original songs about his tumultuous relationship with Rimbaud. The piece will be performed by Michael, Grammy Award-winner Karim Sulayman, and pianist Laura Ward.

David will be releasing a new album of his music entitled “Infrastructure: The Songs of David Sisco” through Métier, under the Divine Arts Recordings label. The album will feature his compositions—written over the last 25 years—with performances by pianist David Fung, soprano Laura Strickling, mezzo Elizabeth Mondragon, and baritone Michael Kelly. Sisco is also represented on the album as a singer. The album was produced at Oktaven Audio and will be released in June, 2026.

David is thrilled to be back with a second season of Wholehearted Voice Pedagogy Podcast, an extension of his book of the same title, published by Routledge Press this past July. Episodes are released twice a month and can be found here, or wherever you get your podcasts.

David has been invited to present “Adapting Student-Centered Pedagogy Across Three Distinct Musical Genres” with his wonderful colleagues Dr. Marisa Lee Naismith and Dr. Travis Sherwood at the EuroVox 2026 Conference in Lucerne, Switzerland in August.
